I have worked for over ten years as a teacher of English in East London secondary schools, achieving above average progress and grades for my students throughout this time. For the past two and a half years I worked in the alternative provision sector of education as a Head of English. Here I gained invaluable experience in planing and implementing an accessible and inclusive English curriculum appropriate for teaching a wide range of students, including those with complex behavioural and academic needs.

I cater to any children of secondary school age, from 10 to 16. I also have experience with engaging learners with complex educational or behavioural needs.

AQA is by far the most commonly used exam board for GCSE English Langauge and Literature, with somewhere around 70% to 80% of secondary schools using AQA for their GCSE English exams in any given year. I have developed many of my resources with the AQA specification in mind. However, these resources can be tweaked for other exam boards. I have experience with teaching the WJEC/Eduqas GCSE English Language and Literature exams as well as these exams for AQA, with great progress for my students. All exam boards follow the same six assessment objectives, and the main difference is in exam structure rather than the type of skills assessed.
